Obituary for Daris Elwood Shaver

Daris Elwood Shaver, US Army Retired
Daris Elwood Shaver of Peterstown died Monday December 22, 2014 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, VA following a brief unexpected illness, with his nephew Jerry Mancuso by his side.
Born September 16, 1939 in Lindside, WV he was a son of the late Lacy James and Anna Lee Bailey Shaver. A graduate of Peterstown High School class of 1957, Daris was a Veteran of the Vietnam War with 22 years of military service to his country.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Daniel and Richard Shaver, sisters Mary Kathleen Shaver (infant). Amy Shaver Hazelwood and Norma Shaver Bradley Meadows.
Daris is survived by two brothers James Shaver of Louisville, KY, and Roy Shaver and wife Nedra of Lindside, one sister-in-law Rita Newlin of Blissfield, MI, Nieces; Jeanne Mancuso (Jerry), Sue Thomas (Jim), Mary Ann Hazelwood, Donna Wilburn, Deborah Grant, and Lisa Reamer (Kenny), Nephews; Robert Shaver, Michael Shaver, Douglas Shaver and Scott James Bradley (Kathy), several great nieces and nephews, and several great-great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2PM Wednesday December 24, 2014 at Bradley Cemetery in Lindside, those wishing to attend are ask to meet at Wickline Funeral Home at 1:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Spruce Run Church of the Brethren Rt. 1 Box 24 Lindside, WV 24951.
