Glen Roy Hill, 87 of Lindside passed away Friday January 15, 2016 at his home. Born January 7, 1929 in Wadsworth, OH he was a son of the late Roy and Mary Maddy Hill.
Glen had retired from the Celanese Corporation in Narrows, Va after 40 years. He was a member of the Union Masonic Lodge No. 77 and a Veteran of the US Army serving as a Medic in Germany during the Korean War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Gary Hill and daughter Dorothy Shafer and son-in-law Danny Carter.
Glen is survived by his wife of 65 years Katherine Pence Hill of the home, one daughter Tammy Carter of Peterstown, a brother William Hill of Greenbelt, MD and two sisters Rebecca Aliff of Salem, VA and Martha Hill of Roseville, MN, five grandchildren Heath Hill, Jarrod Hill, Dustin Carter, Whitney Carter all of Peterstown and Bo Shafer of Lancaster, SC. and two great grandchildren Waylon and Jessa Hill.
Funeral services will be held Monday January 18, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Lindside United Methodist Church with Rev. Brent Brown and Pastor Jimmy Rodgers officiating. Entombment will follow at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, VA with military graveside rites. Heath Hill, Jarrod Hill, Dustin Carter, Levi Crosier, Keith Shafer and Whitney Carter will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Lindside United Methodist Church C/O Sara Wickline PO Box 135 Lindside, WV 24951.
Family will receive friends from one hour prior to service at the Lindside United Methodist Church.
