Obituary for Katherine L. Hill
Katherine L. Hill 87 of Lindside, WV passed away Monday September 19, 2016 at her home following a long illness. Born February 25, 1929 in Lillydale, WV she was a daughter of the late Grover and Emma Weikel Pence.
Katherine was retired from the Celanese Corporation in Narrows, VA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years in January 2016 Glen Roy Hill, a daughter Dorothy Shafer, one son Gary Hill, two sisters Helen Miller and Ruth Lockhart and a son-in-law Danny Carter.
Katherine is survived by her daughter Tammy Carter of Peterstown, WV five grandchildren Heath Hill, Jarrod Hill, Dustin Cater, Whitney Carter all of Peterstown and Bo Shafer of Lancaster, SC, two great grandchildren Waylon and Jessa Hill of Peterstown.
Funeral services will be held Thursday September 22, 2016 at 12:00PM at the Lindside United Methodist Church with Rev.Scott Ingleton and Pastor Jimmy Rodgers officiating. Entombment will follow at the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, VA. Grandchildren and fmaily will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to the Lindside United Methodist Church c/o Sara Wickline PO Box 135 Lindside, WV 24951.
