Connie L. Shafer Reese, 62 of Peterstown, WV won the battle with cancer October 7, 2016 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.
Born December 28, 1953 in Morgantown she was the daughter of the late Marshall Claude and Evelyn Cathleen Springston Shafer.
Connie enjoyed her grandchildren, riding motorcycle with her husband, traveling, quilting and gardening. She had worked several jobs in Narrows, Sophia, Pulaski and Peterstown. Current employee of Wal Mart in Pearisburg, VA. She was an active member and deaconess of the Spruce Run Church of the Brethren in Lindside.
Connie is survived by her husband of 44 years Pastor Karl Reese. Sons Karl Reese Jr and wife Julie, Rodney and Amber Reese and Alex Reese and wife Crystal all of Peterstown, She was know as Ma Ma Connie by Gabriel, Taylor, Kaylee, McKinley, Pat Alex, Christopher and Jordan Reese. Her siblings, Rebecca Lawson (James) of Moundsville, Deloris Kinsley and husband John, Sharon Kinsley and husband James all of Morgantown, Linda Kay Broyles (Dewey) of Lindside, Lois Schiffbauer (Don), Joann Musgrave George Shafer, Darlene Hylton and husband Frank all of Morgantown, and David Shafer and wife Estelle of Alton, NH survive with Michael Shafer preceeding her passing.
Funeral services will be Tuesday October 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Spruce Run Church of the Brethren with Pastors Dewey Broyles & Roger Boothe and Elder Richard Reese officiating. Burial will follow at Karnes Cemetery Peterstown, WV. Family will receive friends at the church on Monday October 10, 2016 from 6PM til 8PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Spruce Run Church of the Brethren at c/o Carl Harman Rt. 1 Box 1-A Lindside, WV 24951.
