Bobby L. Miller, 79 of Lindside, WV passed away Thursday April 27, 2017 at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea. Born July 16, 1937 on the Knobs in Union, WV he was a son of the late Samuel Wade and Elsie Mae Helvey Miller.
He was a graduate of Peterstown High School Class of 1956, US Army reserve for 8 years, he had retired from Giles County School Maintance Shop. Past member of the Rich Creek Lions Club and the Rich Creek Vol. Fire Dept. He raised and showed Angora rabbits and spent one week every year at the West Virginia State Fair with his daughter showing rabbits. He had done a Missionary trip with the Tazewell District United Methodist Church on the island of Dominica to rebuild a school destoryed by a hurricane. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by Brothers; Wade McClure, Billy Ray and Ruby Miller, Nephew David Miller, Sister-in-law Louise Carter, sister and brother in law Clara and Flex Glover.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Oretha Carter Miller of the home, Daughter Gwen Holder, two granddaughters Madyson and Alex Holder all of Mt. Airy, NC, sister Betty Mann and husband Herb of Cornelius, NC, Brother in Law Alvin Carter of Rich Creek, VA, Sister in law Ola Cox and husand Dwaine of Ballard, WV, Sister-in-law Muriel Miller of Lindside, WV, 5 nephews, 8 Great-Nephews, 3 Great-Great Nephews, 6 Neices, 4 Great-Neices, 7 Great-Great Neices.
Funeral services will be held Sunday April 30, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Rich Creek First United Methodist Church with Rev. Betsy Switzer and Rev. Aubrey Whitlow officiating. Burial will follow at Bradley Cemetery in Lindside, WV with Military Graveside services. Dean Weikle, Cory Glover, Bill Bauer, Steve Mann, Tom Hahn, and Bryan Reed with serve as pallbeares. The United Methodist Men of the church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
