Verner E. McMillion Jr. 92 of Lewisburg, WV passed away early Thursday morning February 8, 2018 at Greenbrier Manor in Fairlea.
Born August 17, 1925 in Trout, WV he was a son of the late Verner Elster McMillion Sr. and Julia Theressa Burr McMillion.
Junior of "Mr. Mac" as he was known was a retired brick and stone mason in the area. After retirement, he helped his son-in-law at Shanklin Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs for several years. He was well liked and had many blessings with old and new friends. He was a very devoted Christian of the Protestant faith and loved singing the old hymns. He was a graduate of Williamsburg High School "Class of 1943" and a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Geraldine Christian McMillion, one sister Madora Elizabeth McMillion, and four brothers Lacy (infant), Robert, Harold and Paul McMillion.
Surviving is his only child Mary Jane Walkup and husband Zivo of Lewisburg, two sisters Juanita Harvey of Elgood, WV and Norma Loudermilk of Christiansburg, VA, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
There will be no visitation and graveside services will be private at Morningside Cemetery in Renick, WV.
