Obituary for Bert M. Risley Sr.

Bertram "Bert" Monroe Risley 77 of Peterstown passed away February 16, 2018 at the home of his daughter in Felton, DE due to complications following spinal surgery.
Born December 22, 1940 in Jonesport, ME to the parents of Melvin and Josephine "Pixie" Garnett Risley.
Mr. Risley moved with his parents to Maryland in the early 1950's, Bert worked in water treatment and HVAC until retiring and moving to West Virginia in the 1990's.
Mr. Risley was a lover of his family and friends, he had a great passion for music, animals and old cars. He was always full of life, laughter and a good conversation. Bert could never be fooled on the make or model of classic and antique cars, and could name title and artist of country and classic rock songs. You could catch him singing and enjoying the beauty of the West Virginia mountains.
Bert is survived by one son Bert Risley II of Peterstown, one daughter and son-in-law Brandi and Joshua Withrow and their daughters Brooke, Kimberley and Sophia all of Felton DE. Stepsons Chris Cox and his children of Baltimore, MD, and James and Kristen Cox and their children of Ballard, WV, Bert is also survived by his ex-wife and friend Brenda "Gail" Risley.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday February 24, 2018 at 3:00 Pm at Wickline Funeral Home in Lindside. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
