Obituary for James W "Granny" Wickline
James W. "Granny" Wickline, 81 of Lindside passed away Wednesday September 6, 2018 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA following a short illness.
Born October 23, 1936 in Hans Creek, WV he was a son of the late Hunter and Della Mae Dillon Wickline. James attended Dry Pond School and retired from Celenese in Pearisburg, VA as a mechanic. James was a faithful vistor at the Springfield Center in Lindside. He attended the Community Family Worship Center in Peterstown.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his oldest son Jimmy Wickline, three brothers Doug, George and Clyde Wickline and three sisters Ruby Adkins, Clara "Tootie" Walton and Shelby Harmon.
James is survived by his wife of 61 years Nora Lee Crosier Wickline of the home, son Greg Wickline of Lindside, two brothers Junior and wife Nellie Wickline of Lindside, Harold and wife Ruth Wickline of Greenville, one sister Lucille Dove of Beckley, four grandchildren April Blankenship of Pearisburg, VA, Ryan Wickline of Peterstown, WV, Chastin and wife Morgan Wickline of Lindside and Zy Wickline of Lindside, one great-granddaughter Bailey Blankenship of Pearisburg, VA. many neices and nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday September 8, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Wickline Funeral Home in Lindside with Pastor Gary Hazelwood officiating. Burial will follow at Ellison Cemetery in Hans Creek, WV. Bobby Wickline, Steve Compton, Richard Walton, Larry Walton, Doug Wickline and John Wickline will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 AM till time of service at the funeral home.
