Obituary for Harold Dwain Cox

Harold Dwain Cox, 71 of Ballard, WV surrounded by his loving family went home to be with the Lord on February 18, 2019 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born July 21, 1947 in Beckley, WV he was a son of the late Everette Harold and Alwilda Miller Cox. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Red Sulphur Springs, WV. He served in the US Army for two years in Vietnam. He drove a truck for 40 years and was a contractor upon retirement. His most loved hobby was restoring old tractors an creating beautiful furniture. In addition to his parents he was preceded by an infant daughter Shelia Ann Cox and infant brother Darrell Marvin Cox.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Ola Cox of the home, two sons Robert Cox and wife Sherry of Princeton, Patrick Cox and wife Carol of Hans Creek, WV one daughter Melinda Bauer and husband William of Ballard, one brother Larry Cox and wife Loretta of Lindside, one sister Rebecca Berkley and husband Richard of Dry Fork, VA. 10 Grandchildren Heather Reed an husband Jeremy of Apison, TN, Billy Bauer and wife Tiffani, James Bauer and Eimra Young, Samuel Bauer all of Ballard, WV, Chelise Cox, Sarah Cox both of Princeton, Kyle Cox of Pearisburg, VA, Birdie Cox, Russell Cox and Darrell Cox all of Hans Creek, WV. Great-Granddaughter Elizabeth Taylor of Princeton. Plus one grandchild on the way, several nieces and nephews and friends, he will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM on Thursday February 21, 2019 at Wickline Funeral Home with Pastor Derrick Leslie and Pastor Otuce Huffman officiating. Burial will military graveside rites will follow at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Red Sulphur Springs, WV.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday February 20, 2019 from 6PM till 9PM at Wickline Funeral Home in Lindside.
